I am part of a home school co-op and was the one who was volunteered to teach the high school chemistry class. We used the A Beka curriculum for the most part, but when it came to doing the labs we used very few from the A Beka lab book. They were too expensive, too detailed, to timely to prepare, and frankly too complicated to understand.

One of the moms offered me the MicroChem Kit she had to use since she was sooo relieved to be excused of the duty of teaching the class. I have divided my six students into groups and used the MicroChem Kit successfully. It is such a relief not to have to spend 2-3 hours mixing chemicals and then packing them to class as I did the last time I taught this class.

I strongly suggest using this kit. The directions are simple, the plan is laid out for you in the suggested order for several of the major curriculums that are used in home schools. Whether you have 1 student or are in a situation like mine, the cost is minimal compared to buying all the equipment and chemicals in the other lab books. The kids enjoyed the experiments and learned something along the way.
