AUTHORS:
Dr. Frank Eshelman is a retired professor of engineering with 36
½ years teaching experience at both high school and college
levels. He has a Ph.D. from Iowa State University in materials science
and has been a consultant in many cases involving product and/or
materials failure. His most recent teaching was at Trinity Western
University in British Columbia, Canada where Dr. Eshelman was a
visiting professor of chemistry and physics.
Dr. Eshelman is an accomplished scholar as well as a dedicated
teacher. His many years of teaching experience have been instrumental
in the vision and substance behind Quality Science Labs and its
products.
The MicroChem Kit was first developed by Dr. Eshelman while helping
home school students in chemistry. Dr. Eshelman became aware of
the problem many home school teachers have with the laboratory portion
of the course, and eventually developed a comprehensive laboratory
manual and kit to help meet this need.
Ken Schaefer, co-author of the MicroPhySci manual, taught high
school physics for 37 years. He has also taught astronomy at the
community college level. His education includes B.A. and M.A. degrees
in physics education from the University of Northern Iowa. He is
a writer/developer for the PRISMS project, a nationally acclaimed
laboratory program and text book for high school physics.
